Rumours are on fleak as to Former Chief Minister of Punjab to took over the responsibilities of Manoj Sinha, the current Governor of Jammu and Kashmir. He can be the upcoming Governor of Jammu and Kashmir in the major Lok Sabha elections of 2024.
Sources close to the ex-Patiala Royalty said talks are going on, however nothing concrete has emerged till now.
Earlier the news about him becoming the Governor of Maharashtra also surfaced but then it vanished.
Captain has served as Punjab Chief Minister for almost two terms – first from 2002 to 2007 and then from 2017. He resigned from the Congress Party in October 2021 and later formed his own political party, the Punjab Lok Congress which he later merged with the BJP when he joined the saffron party in September last year. It always seems that Captain has close relations with PM Modi.
