Right from 1991, India has always been adopting the culture of other economies to acquire the position of a developed nation. Korean culture is prevalent in today's youth to a great extent. Be it Korean dramas, music or clothing, modern youth is fascinated by it. The honorary consulate of Korea, Chandigarh has taken an initiative to celebrate the 50 years of Indian-Korean diplomatic relations.
Ambassador Chang Jae-bok will be facilitating the visit to Amritsar and will address the upcoming projects. The States of Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, and Chandigarh in north of India are the regions under Honorary Consul General of the Republic of Korea at Chandigarh S. Jagdip Singh.
He mentioned "Having completed the illustrious year 2022 that witnessed a series of high-profile events including ‘Korea on the Move’ in Chandigarh, we have plans to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between India and Korea this year in a big way".
Honorary consulate has previously organized Ambassador's meet at Amritsar which provides him great opportunity to take them to "Golden temple", "Beating the retreat ceremony at wagha border".
Korean Cultural evening is also planned with the support of the Korean Cultural Centre in India to encourage the Korean Culture in India. In the words of HCG "It is proposed to invite dignitaries, prominent citizens and common public at the event. We also plan to invite Korean citizens living in and around Chandigarh for exchange of views".
