Chandigarh is going to host two G20 summit meetings in the upcoming week on 30th and 31st January 2023 at Hotel Lalit. The first meeting is about the finance track agenda, while the second one is oriented towards agriculture. Finance and Food-Energy security are the major topics of the G20, which have taken the front seat since the beginning of the G20 talks.
Chandigarh was one of the 50 cities chosen for holding the two-day meeting. The UT administration and Municipal Corporation has spent approximately 4 crore for the two day event including lodging as many as 170 delegates in five-star hotels like Lalit, Hyatt, JW Marriot and arranging almost 72 SUVs and cars for their travel purposes.
Sukhna lake, Rock Garden and Capitol Complex are the major locations in Chandigarh that have been beautified with various attractions and G20 country's flags for the big meeting. A cultural programme has also been organized at the Lake Club.
The other host cities for giving a glimpse of India's rich culture and heritage includes cities like Bengaluru, Chennai, Guwahati, Indore, Jodhpur, Khajuraho, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Pune, Rann of Kutch, Surat, Thiruvananthapuram and Udaipur.
