The cold wave conditions that are sweeping through Punjab and Haryana didn't go away on Saturday, with the minimum temperature falling below normal in most places.
According to the reports of the Meteorological Department, city's minimum temperature was around 5.7 degrees Celsius while on the other hand, maximum temperature was only 11.1 degrees Celsius, nine degrees below normal. Beginning on January 10, the region will likely also be affected by a new Western Disturbance.
Along with the falling temperature, lives of the residents of Chandigarh have worsened with reduced visibility level due to extreme fog. Some parts of Panjab and Haryana were covered in fog, making it harder to see for those who have to travel on two wheelers and even on four wheelers in early morning.
Additionally, this was the fourth consecutive morning with visibility below 50 meters. Even though the maximum temperature has been falling to new lows each day this week, it is still lower than when it was at its lowest point in January last year.
