Chandigarh gets a new SSP, Kanwardeep Kaur to be UT's second woman achieving this position
A 2013 batch IPS officer 'Kanwardeep Kaur' from Punjab Cadre will be the second women SSP of the 'city beautiful' Chandigarh after Nilambari Jagdale (2008 batch) IPS officer.
She is being appointed for a tenure of 3 years by the appointment committee of the Cabinet Department of Personnel and Traning, Government of India. The committee approved the decision of the Ministry of Home Affairs(MHA) who recommended Kaur's name in the letter on Saturday.
Since the repatriation of Kuldeep Singh Chahal (2009 batch) on the alleged charges of misconduct 10 months before his tenure, the said post (SSP UT) was vacant.
Kaur has earlier served her duties in Kapurthala and Malerkotla district too as the SSP.
