Chandigarh is expecting scorching days; by April 14, temperatures may exceed 38 °C.
The next five days are expected to have mostly clear skies, according to the forecast. According to the Chandigarh Meteorological Department, the maximum temperature increased to 33.7 °C on Sunday, even though a five-degree increase in daytime temperatures is forecast.
Additionally, after a few weeks of respite from the heat, Delhi's maximum temperature on Sunday reached 34.8 degrees Celsius, the highest reading of the year. Because there won't be any rain in the forthcoming week, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) anticipates a gradual rise in mercury.
Around this time last year, on April 9, Delhi had a record-breaking high temperature of 42.4 °C. The fact that 40.1 °C was the highest temperature measured in 2021 up until April 9 illustrates how extraordinary the summers have been this year.
IMD had previously predicted that there was a chance of very light rain on Delhi's outskirts on Sunday and that there would be little to no rain on Tuesday. According to the IMD, the cyclonic circulation that was expected to pass over south Haryana and northeast Rajasthan over the weekend has now been halted.
