Chandigarh police carried out a search after an unknown caller's bomb threat at ASOD, Sector 26

Today afternoon, a bomb threat was received by a lounge cum nightclub in Chandigarh. A State Of Dance Club situated in sector 26 informed about the call to the nearby Police station.

Thereafter, Investigation was carried out by the Police and Bomb disposal teams along with dogs squad teams were also called to the site. Authorities had sealed the entire area around the club for investigation. After checking the club thoroughly no bomb was found and the club was declared safe.

An FIR has been filed against the unknown person and the bomb threat was declared a hoax. Later SHO Maninder Singh of sector 26 claimed, “The nightclub manager received an anonymous call regarding some explosives. We are getting it checked. The entire area has been cordoned off and is being checked"

The investigation is still on. Such hoax calls during the crucial ongoing G20 meetings are a major concern for the city.
