The Central Board of secondary education has made a major change in the education system regarding the exam format. Exams from now will be based on competence and will include the education of real life situations. This change will be greeted from the session 2024-25.
" The main emphasis of the board is to create an educational system that would move towards the kind of learning that is focused on developing the creative, critical analysis systems and thinking capacities of students", said Joseph Emanuel, Director Academics CBSE.
Case studies and competence based questions will be 50% in the form of Multiple Choice Questions and short and long answer questions will be 30% ; another section of MCQs will remain the same as 20%.
Moreover, references to the politics of Hindutva, the 2002 Gujarat riots, minorities, and Babri Masjid from the political science syllabus of Class 12 have been removed by NCERT. In regard to this , NCERT stated that the latest ongoing political scenarios will be focused more in the books .
