Dr. Indu Pal Kaur, a renowned Pharmacology expert, has been appointed as the DPIIT IPR Chair Professor at the University Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (IPS), Panjab University. She holds 17 patents and has received the National Intellectual Property Award in 2021 and 2022.
In the field of Pharmacology, she is considered among the top 2 percent scientists of India who are recognized globally. She has been on this list continuously since 2019.
Her appointment came after a controversy arose when a junior-level professor was initially given charge of the position.
Now, Dr. Indu Pal Kaur's resume has been approved by the ministry, and she has been given the permanent responsibility of the DPIIT IPR Chair Professor.
