In a heart-wrenching incident, a man from Bhukhar village in Mohali, identified as Ravinder Kumar, is grappling with the loss of his 21-year-old son and the mysterious disappearance of three other relatives. The victims had embarked on a journey to Libya with the ultimate aim of reaching Italy. The district police have registered a case against a Haryana-based travel agent, Madan Lal, and his two female accomplices following a complaint filed by Ravinder Kumar.
According to the complaint, Madan Lal had been a regular visitor to Ravinder's village and had befriended him through a mutual acquaintance. Lal allegedly offered his services to help settle Ravinder's son in Italy, which the desperate father agreed to, along with sending his brother Sandeep and two brothers-in-law, Dharambir and Ajay Kumar, to Italy as well.
The accused travel agent reportedly took a total of Rs 49 lakh from the family, with an initial payment of Rs 1 lakh each for the four travelers. The remaining sum was to be paid upon their safe arrival in Italy. All four individuals successfully obtained visas and departed the country on February 6. However, tragedy struck when the son and the three relatives went missing, prompting Ravinder Kumar to approach the authorities.
As the investigation unfolds, the distraught family seeks answers while the accused individuals are yet to be apprehended by the authorities.
