Former cricketer and Punjab Congress President Navjot Singh Sidhu is expected to be released

Former cricketer and Punjab Congress President Navjot Singh Sidhu is expected to be released from jail in the first week of April.

He has not taken any day off in his whole period of punishment. This may benefit him in decreasing the tenure of punishment. His behaviour has also improved in the prison. Coming soon posters have been spread before his release.

Prior to this, his release was scheduled on 26th January on the occasion of Republic day. His release was on air but due to some reasons the day was postponed.

One possible reason is speculated that the list of prisoners to be released on 26th January was not approved by Punjab Cabinet.

Navjot Singh Sidhu is imprisoned in Patiala Jail from 20 May 2022.He has surrendered against a 34 years old roadrays case in supreme court. According to sources he has been given 10 number in Patiala Jail and is given the work of a clerk.
