Punjabi music composer and lyricist Bunty Bains narrowly escaped an attack at a restaurant in Mohali, Punjab. The incident occurred in sector 79 when unknown assailants open fired on him.
Fortunately, he managed to evade injuries and reported the incident to the police.
Following the attack, Bains received a threatening phone call demanding a ransom of Rs 1 crore, with the warning of dire consequences if he failed to comply. Allegedly, the call was made in the name of Lucky Patial, a notorious gangster associated with criminal groups like Lawrence Bishnoi and Bambiha gangs. The police have launched an investigation into the shooting.
Bains, known for nurturing the careers of various Punjabi singers including the late Sidhu Moose Wala, had previously managed Moose Wala's affairs. Additionally, it's worth noting that Bains is also a student of the Urdu department at Punjab
University. This incident comes in the wake of Moose Wala's own tragic demise in a drive-by shooting, for which Gangster Goldy Brar had claimed responsibility.
