Chandigarh City got first position in Swachh Survekshan 2023 awards.

Chandigarh -The city beautiful has got the prize for its constant effort in maintaining

cleanliness. Chandigarh has been awarded with first position in 'Safai Mitra ka Surakshit Sheher' category in Swachh Survekshan 2023 awards.

The Union ministry of housing and urban affairs organized an award ceremony to felicitate cities for Swachh Survekshan 2023 at Bharat Mandapam, ITPO, New Delhi on January 11. Mayor and senior officers of the Chandigarh administration and municipal corporation attended the award ceremony at New Delhi.

MC commissioner Anindita Mitra expressed her happiness that Chandigarh retained its Water Plus status, for the third year in a row along with getting first position in "Safai Mitra ka Surakshit Shehar" category. Chandigarh has done its best to get the status. The civic body ensured 303 public toilets and 28 community toilets at adequate distance catering to 12.7 lakhs citizens of Chandigarh, she added.
