Punjab congress faces a big blow as Manpreet Singh Badal, former Finance Minister of Punjab, quits the party amid of on going Bharat Jodo Yatra in Punjab. He has been a member of Punjab Legislative Assembly five times, and has been finance minister twice.
Manpreet Singh Badal quit the party today and blamed the top brass for factionalism within the party. In a letter addressed to Congress MP Rahul Gandhi, Manpreet Badal wrote that a coterie of men in Delhi is running affairs in Punjab and have only increased factionalism. He has resigned from the primary membership of the Congress party and will join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today.
Also his brother-in-law informed the media by saying, “Manpreet ji has said bye-bye to the congress.”
