India's Nikhat Zareen wins the Women's World Boxing Championship in Turkey, becoming the only fifth

Another Indian girl makes India proud as boxer Nikhat Zareen has bagged gold medal at Women's World Boxing Championship in Turkey, defeating Thailand's Jitpong Jutamas 5-0 in the flyweight division of the championship on Thursday.

Nikhat has become the only fifth Indian woman to win the World Championship, after Mary Kom, Sarita Devi, Jenny RL and Lekha KC. This is also India's first gold medal in four years, after Olympic medalist Mary Kom won it in this Championship in 2018.

Zareen, 25, belongs from Nizamabad, a city in the state of Telangana. She has also been a junior youth world champion.
