Bharat Jodo Yatra is a foot march at national level organised in order to unite India. The initiative will be launched today by Rahul Gandhi, who reached Chennai yesterday but the yatra will start from today itself, All the claims of Yatra being a political attention source have been disowned by the Congress party.
The Yatra will start from Kanyakumari and covering distance of 3,570 km in 150 days, it will end in Jammu and Kashmir. They won't be spending their nights in luxury hotels but in 60 such containers that have been arranged with a few facilities namely Sleeping beds, toilets and ACs out of which one would be for Rahul Gandhi and rest would be shared. As they would be covering 22-23 km everyday in 6-7 hours, they would be provided to eat on the road and also with laundry services.
The key places of foot march would be Kanyakumari, Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi, Nilambur, Mysuru, Bellary, Raichur, Vikarabad, Nanded, Jalgaon Jamod, Indore, Kota, Dausa, Alwar, Bulandshahar, Delhi, Ambala, Pathankot, Jammu, Srinagar.
The Yatra will be organised in two batches, morning and evening and 30% of the joining people are women. Two long stays are planned in Kerala and Karnataka for 18 and 21 days respectively.
