Lakshadweep ignites a Boycott Maldives campaign in India, after derogatory remarks by the Maldives minister

Relaxing by the beachside, browsing the waves that brought calm and peace, came the viral pictures posted by Honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The snappy caption on his Instagram's handle read "For those who wish to embrace the adventurer in them, Lakshadweep has to be on your list." While the post was meant to stretch out the message of taking a break from usual hustle and bustle, simultaneously showcasing the beauty of our homeland it made certain people question the optimistic aura and sparked rumours of hidden conspiracy to degrade their tourism industry.

These sharply brilliant people were none other than deputy ministers of the Ministry of Youth Affairs in Maldives, namely Malsha Shareef, Mahzoom Majid, and Maryam Shuina. This intellectual race of insulting was initially started by Maryam Shuina who joined the dots to just draw the conclusion that the Prime Minister was trying to confront and test the abilities of the Maldives.

In short, it was a comparison game between the two. Most Indians were shrugged off with the very idea of these vague allegations. Attempting to challenge the Indian mindset in this realm of AI was of course the least affordable alternative the Maldives Ministers could think of. So came a gush of memes and messages of boycotting Maldives and switching to an even better mainland- our very own Lakshadweep.

The humorous resistance was also met by cancelling the tickets and flooding the internet with opinionated reactions. Why engage in diplomacy when you can simply meme-away it? It always works- bringing humor to a serious chat – the ultimate power move by many who felt this reaction to be diplomatically dumb.

Can you prevent superman from saving the needy? Similarly you can't prevent Indians from empowering and protecting the dignity of their country. This persisting controversy, in a wild opinion, might be made into a film known as "Lakshadweep v/s Maldives: An Island Showdown"
