No liquor: Chandigarh to observe dry days

Writer: PU PulsePU Pulse

The Chief Electoral Officer of Chandigarh, adhering to the Election Commission of India's directives, has released the dry day schedule for the upcoming general and by-elections across various assembly constituencies.

As per the announcement made on Tuesday, the Chandigarh administration has designated specific days when the sale of liquor will be prohibited throughout the Union Territory. This measure is intended to ensure a smooth and fair electoral process by preventing any undue influence or disturbances related to alcohol consumption.

The scheduled dry days will coincide with key election phases, including the day of polling, the preceding day, and the counting day. Such regulations are a standard practice to maintain law and order during elections, thereby facilitating a transparent and impartial voting environment. Citizens and vendors in Chandigarh are advised to adhere strictly to these guidelines to support the democratic process.
