NSUI vs INSO continues on Menstruation leave policy
Menstrual leave had been matter of great dispute not only in India but also in Panjab University. General secretary Deepak Goyat was against this agenda but recently a video has come up of Poonam jyani raising questions on the double face of INSO party.
As per Poonam, The INSO political party in Delhi University i.e. DUSU has supported the menstrual leave. The presidential candidate Shraddha Gupta has added the point of providing menstrual leave in her Manifesto. On one hand in PU they are opposing the matter and on the other hand supporting the same thing in DU.
Where as Deepak stated that "Why does NSUI consider women so weak that they need dedicated leave during their periods? Panjab University’s policy regarding attendance, allowing additional 10% condonation after 25 percent margin, is worth noting whereas DU has very strict regulations in regard to attendance and their internal assessment is also based on attendance. Additionally, offering menstrual leave doesn't necessarily contribute to Women's Empowerment. Menstrual leave also does not help to reduce menstrual shame, stigma or discrimination. A 3-day extra leave does not solve the difficulties faced by women but improving the infrastructure, providing the safe environment in the campus, supporting and motivating them which we are genuinely working for. This is much clear from video who is raising this issue for political move"
