
Panjab University corruption case took a turn with revelations which put quite some officials under the radar. A month after the resignation of professor Raj Kumar, the vigilance took the charge to investigate the situation, on chancellor Jagdeep Dhankar’s orders.
According to the allegations, a major chunk of the bribes was stuffed in the pockets of JE officers. After three months of investigation,the witnesses and evidence found were presented to the committee by the Vigilance Chief Officer (CFO) ,which made it clear that corruption has been a malpractice for years in the university. A number of audio recordings were also found.
JE accepted to have been involved in corruption and passing of bribes. The stationary owner in PU market has also been found to play a major role in the entire matter as he was the one who took the money from the victims on the behalf of real culprits. The committee has decided to lodge an FIR in a few days.
According to the sources, the former chairperson and his alliances are to be investigated if necessary. This has created a stir in university and some big names are under the radar.
