November 26 is celebrated as the National
Constitution Day in India. It marks the day when our Constitution was adopted by the Constitution Assembly in 1949. It's a very nostalgic moment, the long awaited one, the day for which our people had to make so many sacrifices and an excruciatingly long struggle.
Indian Constitution, the longest in the world, was drafted by a special committee made for the same and headed by Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, also known as the Father of Indian Constitution. On November 26, 1949, this draft was adopted by the Constituent Assembly and it came into effect on 26th January, 1950- the Republic Day of India.
As a part of the celebrations, various events are organised at school, college, university and national level. These events include quiz, debate, lectures, informative talks etc. about our Constitution, the makers of our Constitution and about the history of India.
Let's celebrate the day of our samvidhan- "A Constitution- Of the people, for the people and by the people". PU Pulse wishes everyone a happy Constitution Day.
