Ashok Gehlot, Chief Minister of Rajasthan was brought under scrutiny when he allegedly read previous year's budget. He was supposed to present the state's financial budget for the current year in the assembly but ended up narrating last year's budget. He was made to realise his mistake by Congress Minister Mahesh Joshi and later apologised.
He was ridiculed thereafter by BJP legislatures for being careless. Several BJP leaders are of the view that the budget was leaked, to this Ashok Gehlot responded "You (Opposition) can point out only if there's a difference between what's written in the budget in my hand and its copies given to the House members. If a page was added to my budget copy by mistake, then how does the matter of leaking of budget arise?"
