Several BJP activists taken into custody during a protest against the deteriorating law and order in the state, Police used water cannons.
Today, a protest against the declining law and order of Punjab state was held by BJP leaders and workers near the party office in Chandigarh following which they marched towards Vidhan Sabha.
The protest was led by Punjab BJP chief Ashwini Sharma. Barricading was done to manage the situation, but some BJP workers jumped over the set up barricades while shouting slogans "Modi-Modi" which led to Police using water cannons following which the protestors were taken into custody.
BJP leaders opposed as many disagreements and disputes were taking place after Bhagwant Maan's AAP government came to power. They also quoted about the recent military blockade of the Ajanala Police Station to release one of Singh's aides.
"There is no rule of law, jungle raj prevails in Punjab and criminals are roaming freely," said state BJP chief Ashwini. The protest was also supported by BJP leaders and former Punjab ministers Manpreet Singh Badal and Rana Gurmit Singh Sodhi.
