As reported earlier by PU Pulse, only chemist shop at GMSH Hospital was operated by the same firm from 29 years. The shop was allocated on lease in 1993 for 2 years but after that no fresh tender was floated by administration. Also the owner had illegally extended the size of shop since 2010.
On 31st October 2022 the lease of the shop had been terminated but the transfer of possession is still not carried out. The new fresh deadline set is of 17 February at 10 am to vacate the space.
Not only this the fine of Rs 31.8 crore is imposed on the owner by chandigarh Administration. The director, health and family welfare, UT, has also imposed a fine of ₹29,000 as cost of clearing the passage.
