Dussehra is the time around the year when Ramlila is performed, magnificent fairs are held and large crowds witness Ravana effigies set on fire.
It falls on the tenth day of Sharada Navratri.

This year, Sector 46 ground has the tallest effigies of all, with Ravana effigy of 92 feet while that of Kumbhkarana and Meghnada of heights 85 and 82 feet respectively.
But at midnight of Oct 5, ahead of Dussehra celebrations some unknown miscreants set the Meghnada effigy on fire. Fire brigade rushed to put out the fire but half of it was already destroyed.
Only two effigies - Ravana and Kumbhkarana will be burnt in the evening during celebrations.
