In a bizzare incident on the eve of Wednesday, two minors fired six pellets of an airgun, aimed towards two youngsters of Chandigarh. The incident took place near Beat Box, in Sector 46.
The victims, identified as Anurag, aged 21 and Kashish, aged 22 have been admitted in GMCH and are being treated for their injuries.
Out of the 6 pellets fired, 4 were shot at Anurag, who faces injuries at the shoulder and the head. The other 2 pellets, were shot at Kashish, whose neck and ears have been injured in the incident.
The accused, both aged 16 are students of Grade 12, with one of them being a sportsperson in shooting. Both of the accused have been presented in court, from where they have been sent to the Juvenile Home in Sector 25. A case has also been registered against them in sector 34 under the Arms Act.
It has been said, that the victims went to sector 46 to get some fast food, while the accused were there already. A staring contest had started between the two parties. The situation escalated, when the accused started taking pictures of the car, leading to heated arguments. Amidst the argument, the accused pulled out their airgun and fired shots at the victims.
As soon as the shots were fired, a crowd emerged around the two, and the police was informed about the situation. The accused were arrested on the spot, and the victims sent to the hospital.
Interestingly, the two parties did not know each other at all, before the incident.
