After the governments in Maharashtra and Delhi decided to do away with the restriction of wearing masks, the state of Haryana has followed suit, making wearing of masks optional and also removing the 2500 fine for not wearing them. The Haryana Government on had notified this through an order on Saturday.
The official statement read, "Wearing of face mask by each person, while being in public places and workplace, was made mandatory; is hereby withdrawn with immediate effects. No penalty or fine of $500/ shall be imposed or not wearing face masks in public/ work places."
However, the Haryana Government has still advised the public to follow all the COVID appropriate behaviours in crowded places.
