In the race of the cleanest city in the country in Swachh Survekshan 2022, Chandigarh, The City Beautiful had shown an outstanding performance. The city is ranked 12th. Top ranks were secured by Indore and Surat. Also Chandigarh was awarded as Fastest Moving Capital City in the country.
The city ranked slipped to 66th in the previous year but this time it bounced back with the constant efforts of the administration. The announcement took place on Saturday i.e. 1 October in the presence of Honorable President. The award was received by Chandigarh Mayor Sarbjit Kaur Dhillon and MC Commissioner Anindita Mitra.
City scored 6209 marks out of 7500 counting to 82.7 percent which was around 71.3 percent last time.
