On Sunday morning, Khalistan flags along with graffiti of pro-Khalistan slogans were found on the main gates of Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly in Tapovan, Dharamshala.
Taking prompt action, the Himachal Pradesh government ordered all inter-state borders to be sealed and blockades to be put.
An FIR against Gurpatwant Singh Pannu, General Counsel to the Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) have also been registered pertaining to this matter.
The order of DGP, Himachal Pradesh, Sanjay Kundu, stated, "Keeping the view of the incidents of Khalistani elements in neighboring states and the incident of tying a Khalistani banner on April 11 in Una and recent incident of hoisting Khalistani banners and graffiti outside Vidhan Sabha complex in Tapovan as well as the threat given by SFJ to hold referendum for Khalistan in the state on June 6 Considering the similar incident of tying Khalistani banners in Una district on April 11, the state will be on high alert from today."
He further mentioned six preventive and precautionary measures to be implemented immediately.
Also, Kundu asked Police chiefs to set up the security in their jurisdiction and intensify night patrolling and all watchmen and security guards working in government buildings, banks and other public sector undertakings are sensitized to report anything related to this matter to their local police station.
