Panjab University has officially announced the Golden Chance Examination for Undergraduate (UG), Postgraduate (PG) and Professional course students whose permissible chances to clear their degrees have already been exhausted. As per the notification issued by the Office of the Controller of Examinations, the Golden Chance is applicable for students admitted from 2014 onwards for UG courses and 2011 onwards for PG and Professional courses. The opportunity is being provided exclusively for even semesters (2nd, 4th, 6th, 8th and 10th) under the semester system. The examinations will be conducted offline along with the regular End Semester Examinations in April/May 2026. At present, students can apply only for even semester Golden Chance examinations. The online application portal will open on February 12, 2026, and close on March 11, 2026. Applications must be submitted online through ugexam.puexam.in or pgexam.puexam.in. The examination fee has been fixed at ₹7,500 per semester for UG courses and ₹15,000 per semester for PG/Professional courses, with a 50% fee concession for SC/ST candidates. The university has also released detailed syllabus guidelines for UG, PG, Law, Engineering, and Professional courses, clarifying that candidates must follow the syllabus as prescribed for their respective semesters or the last available syllabus, as applicable. Students have been advised to carefully mention their admission year while filling out the application form.
